Dr.Bassi received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013. He is currently an assistant professor at King Abdulaziz University. He contributes effectively to his discipline by adding innovative ideas and compete to add upon the state-of-the-art in power electronics technologies and renewable energy. He published several articles in photovoltaic and wind energy. Many of his publication is funded by reputable institute such as deanship of scientific research at King Abdulaziz University. Dr. Bassi is interested in renewable energy technologies. His focus is mainly on improving the power absorption in the solar energy using several techniques such as maximum power point tracking (MPPT). He is also working on wind energy integration and control using sophisticated rapid control schemes. He works on Smart grid technologies and applications and Energy storage. He is currently serving as the director of the strategic planning in the vice deanship of development in King Abdulaziz University. Dr. Bassi is a member in several insistutes such as PES, smart grid community, Saudi Council of Engineers, International Association of Engineers, and more.
