Training Director, Zamil Higher Institute for Industrial Training (ZHIIT)
Dr Mohamed Sharif has joined Zamil Industrial Investment Company (Zamil Industrial) in 2005 as a Training Center Manager and was then promoted to be the Training Director of Zamil Higher Institute for Industrial Training (ZHIIT) in 2011. He established the Institute in 2010, which is accredited by National and International qualifications awarding bodies including Edexel, UK, National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH-UK), International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC-USA), the Saudi TVTC and the Ministry of Education to deliver wide ranges of technical, management as well as health and safety training programmes and courses.
Before working for Zamil Industrial, Dr Sharif was the Deputy Director General for Training Affairs at Bahrain Training Institute, which is a public training institute with over 3500 fulltime trainees. He has over 33 years of experience in developing, delivering and managing vocational training programmes and centres with extensive teaching experience in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation and Process Control Engineering. He has worked for a total of 11 years as the Head of the Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation Technology Department and Deputy Director General for Training Affairs at Bahrain Training Institute. Before that, he worked as the head of instrumentation technology section at a Technical School and was seconded to the Directorate of Curriculum Development at the Ministry of Education in Bahrain for over 9 years.
He is a Corporate Member of the British Institute of Measurement and Control, a Chartered Engineer at the British Engineering Council, a Member of the American Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and a Senior Member of the Instrument Society of America.
Dr Sharif studied in the UK after completing his secondary school in Bahrain and has several qualifications from UK institutions including a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Electronic Engineering and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in Instrumentation Engineering from University of Cardiff, UK. He has participated in many technical training programmes and workshops in UK, USA, Germany and Japan.
